-Parents: Noir was originally an orphan, but later got adopted (age 13) by a 35-year-old
apartment landlord named Enzo. Enzo lives in the apartment in the “landlord’s office”,
also known as a repurposed basement.
-Age: 15
-Nationality: French (lives in Paris, France)
-Species: Cat/human hybrid (Hence her name, Noir is more cat than human. She has
a disorder that doesn’t allow her to speak French, English, or any other language,
only cat meows. She also rarely walks on two legs, usually on all fours like a cat.
Not only that, but she can even digest cat food! Luckily, she doesn’t cough up hair
balls or considers licking herself hygienical. Noir seems to be a rare case, as there
haven’t been any other reports of a hybrid with a disability like this.
-Languages: Can understand both French and English but can’t speak it.
-Description: Noir has black hair and purple eyes. Well, eye. Besides her ears and
her tail, Noir’s most obvious physical trait is that she has a cut on her right eye
that’s normally covered by an eye patch. Her injury occurred a few years ago. She’s
adapted to it well, but she doesn’t have great depth perception.
-Fears: Noir has a fear of knives and other sharp, pointy blades because…
(backstory!) Noir always used to visit Enzo’s apartment building every evening when
she was still an orphan, as the orphanage was only a ten-minute walk away. One night,
when she was 12, she was going back to her orphanage and a drunken, crazed lunatic
approached her, speaking nonsense and waving a knife around. Noir thought the display
was funny at first. That is, until he noticed her laughing at him and, intending
to just hold the knife in her face threateningly, sliced one of Noir’s eyes!

Noir immediately ran away from the man, towards Enzo’s apartment building. She frantically
knocked on the door to Enzo’s office. Half asleep, Enzo couldn’t believe his eyes
when she saw Noir’s face covered in blood. Sometimes, he still wonders if the whole
thing was a dream... He called an ambulance, and Noir was quickly taken to the nearest
hospital. Enzo visited her the next day at the hospital to see how she was doing.
When he saw all the other kids and her three parents, it occurred to Enzo that Noir
was an orphan! That’s the day he adopted Noir and made her legal name what her nickname
was – Noir.
-Disabilities: Besides the cat thing, Noir can’t use her hands very well. She can
hold things and whatnot, but anything fancy like using utensils is difficult.
Noir usually walks on all fours because when she tries walking on two, she has a
hard time keeping her balance.
-Food: Enzo feels somewhat wrong feeding it to a human (especially his adopted daughter),
but Noir likes to eat cat food.
-Behavior: After the incident, Noir was introverted for a while and would never leave
her new room (which was in Enzo’s office). After a few months, she returned to being
her old self, which is to say, she started pestering residents again. Noir is seemingly
quite outgoing and likes to meet new people. Once it’s explained why she acts like
a cat, most people don’t mind her that much. She’s nice, though a little selfish
and sometimes uncooperative just for the fun of it. Noir acts like a cat, but it’s
clear that she’s always thinking like a human. Since she can’t be communicated with,
it can be hard to tell exactly what she’s thinking about...
-Clothes: A year or two before he adopted her, Noir found a maid outfit in the apartment’s
lost and found. It was basically her size, and she asked Enzo to give it to her through
general cattiness. He did...but only after he washed it. He had never hired a maid
before, so who knows what it was for!

After the adoption, Enzo was given a bunch of clothes for Noir to wear. Noir insisted
on wearing something from the apartment’s lost and found again, but the only thing
there this time was a nightgown, coincidentally in the same size as the maid outfit.
Enzo let her have that too, but only after it was washed. Enzo asked her not to let
others see her wearing it, it’s not exactly opaque…
If her maid outfit is being washed and she wants to see other people, she’ll just
wear some of the clothes from the orphanage.
